On November 15,
2018, the official launch of the CTC services was held at the Bathurst Chamber
of Commerce. A little more than 40 people were present for this launch.
CTC Board Chair
Dianne Cormier Northrup, Mayors, Joe Noel (Belledune) and Luc Desjardins
(Petit-Rocher), RICC Board Chair, Jean Allain, RICC Consultant, July Synnott, gave
speeches and delivered messages on the importance of transportation service in
the Chaleur region.
The mayors
emphasized the importance of transportation in the quality of life of citizens.
A CTC client,
Rose Anne Roy (Bathurst), gave a very moving testimonial about the importance
and the benefits she gets from the service offered.
Two CTC
volunteer drivers, Betty and Francis Leger (Petit-Rocher), explained the
rationale behind their commitments and the benefits they have gained.
Subsequently,
the Director General of the CTC unveiled a promotional video for volunteer
recruitment. The evening ended with the official launch declared by the
Director by lighting up traffic lights.
Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for mileage and compensated for additional insurance requirements.
